I just got back fron San Diego,Cali. from a guided fly trip in offshore waters Capt. Conway is a great guide not even 5 minutes out of Mission bay Channel we were hooked up with 120 lb mako on 11 wt rod 12 wt reel 20 lb tippet. what a grueling 45 min. battle. it was AWESOME to se a shark take a fly set the hook and start his aerobatics Mr. maok jumped out 20 ft high and 20 yrd clips 7 times then dove 200 yrds down and the dogging began got em to the boat for a clean release.what a great trip to Cali. for me.
we also released two others 80 lb and 140 lb.
