Report:
Found a few halibut yesterday 03/21/02. Shawn and I ran down to Oyster Point to fish the last of the ebb and part of the flood. When we got there we found 54-56.9 degree water that was clear enough to see your gear 3 foot below the surface. Our trip ended with 5 halibut to 8 pounds. No shakers . Some new bouys have been set off the air strip (nothing fancy, orange balls). Im assuming that this is the closed zone. We stayed out of it and saw no coast guard or sheriff patroling it. Its still very early in the year to be talking halibut. There are a few around and if you cover the ground you are bound to find a few butts for the barbe. The BARBARIAN is ready for the new season. WE JUST MOVED BACK TO RICHMOND. With the results from this weekend, I can safely say, Regardless of what everybody thinks THE HALIBUT ARE HERE! You can waste your time buying videos that just touch on trolling for halibut or you can book a trip with professional anglers on the BARBARIAN. We will help you get it right the first time. We dont need live bait for trolling. Give me a call and I'll show you how to troll for halibut. Capt. John 707-469-7585...
