Report:
Went out looking for Mackeral and found a decent amount 2.5 miles South of the mouth of the Sakonnet near a wreck and some rocks... It was slower than reported so I headed back up the river and fished the first 2 hours of incoming tide...ended up getting 4 schoolies and a very healthy 29" keeper (which I released) My first keeper sized striper of the year! I was deep jigging 7" bass assasins in 20 - 40 feet of water...I was marking a bunch of fish but could only get them to hit the assasins...
Also noticed a bunch of people getting an early jump on the Tautog season - noticed a few 20+ inchers coming up around the old bridge.
Take care
