Report: Around 12o'clock I decided to take a trip on a kayak i took a rod just for fun, i started out drifting around the harbor with chartuse shrimp tails and got my share of sandies and spotted bay bass later that afternoon around 2o'clock changed the tail to a pink shrimptail after about an hour of spotted bay bass and a sand bass i decided to try somthing new knowing full well that this technice works for suspended largemouth bass in lakes because you can work your bait at a constant level i tried drop shot , yes dropshot and it was amazing i had four bay bass, five sand bass and one calico after that i swicthed back to the pink tail and on the first cast I got a 5# white sea bass iwas toatly stoked well late after noon fishing slowed through the tide change later around 4o'clock the pink tail weilded a huge suprise my rod had a series of taps i picked it up and felt weigth i put the rod in freespool then when i realized that i probably was just stuck on the bottom i set the hook and then my rod went crazy the fish ran from side to side there was nothing i could do so i just loosened my drag after about 15 minutes the fish came up slowly it was a 10-15 pound halibut i was so amazed that i landed it on 12# test .
