Ahoy there one and all!
Sunday was a day of rock fishing aboard the riptide! There was a swell which was indicative of he changing of the seasons. The swell was generated up north as there was a weak disturbance ( storm) and this "ground swell is what is kind of the precursor or first warnings of things to come for the winter.
We started fishing of the "Ritz" and were scratching a few fish. So I decided to run down to fish off of Martins beach. We continued to scratch one here and one there all morning. This was the case for all of the boats as I think the swell had affected all of the fish as they too can start to feel the change in the season as well ( I talked to my friendly mermaid and she said that was the case and I believe her)!! We ended the day with 13 limits of rock fish and only a few keeper size ling cod. But it was still a great day for everyone!
There are only a few days left to the season. So either get your last licks in now or you are going to have to wait till JULY to catch another rock fish (salmon should open in march I think).
Tight lines!
