Submitted by Jlsiii (ip 64.12.96.76) - Fished on 12/08/2002
- Report received: 12/12/02
Water Temperature: Low 40's Water Clarity: good Seas: 2' to Flat Weather: Cold, very light wind, air temps reaching the low 50's inshore. Fishing_for: Stripers Boat: Double Meat captain: B. Scott McMichael
Report: Left Norview about 1/4 to 8 after a late departure from Richmond.
Trolled near R-2 in the AM with no sucess--headed across toward the shipping channel.
Very, very slow---scattered bait & fish, but no takers.
Pulled up and ran to 59-A around 1:00. Hooked one keeper (22") at 2 PM on a 4 oz parachute with a 6"sassy shad (white on white)--this was on top of a 16oz Mojo.
Main patterns were Mojo's with parachutes or a smaller crippled alwife.
Pulled an umbrella rig with 8oz of weight, and varied stretch 25's & 30's. Great day--things felt fishy, but the colder water made the fish rather sluggish. I can't help but think that this was also the 3rd day of some pretty intense pressure after the Greentop/CCA tourney.
Hope to get out there with Captain BSM again.
Tight lines, fruit pies & Double Meat sandwiches for all!
