Report: Chumming for Striped Bass (Rockfish) continues to be great. The fish are starting to get smaller, and you will get about one in ten keepers. There are plenty of fish to be caught. Along with the bass, bottom fishing for croaker and spot is starting to be good. On Saturdays charter we had croaker to 19' and some nice spot. We were using blood worms and squid on top and bottom rigs, and fished southwest of #1 off the West River. Chumming is good on both the Eastern and Western side of the bay. They bass are on the Hill, off #86, by #1, and at Gum Thickets.
This is my last report for the Bay until September. I'm off to the ocean for the summer.
