Report: Brian Kettler and I hitched a ride with Larry on the Calico Hunter III for some decent bass action on the front side of Santa Cruz Island. The weather was un-believably nice and the ride out and back was like flying across a lake. We fished tight to the island and boilers and out on some reefs for somwhere around 50 legal bass and a mess of rockfish. Brian got two very big Cabazon and I pulled in three lingcod to 27 inches. All of the fish were caught on 5 and 6 inch Big Hammers. The hot colors were Reef Kritter and Sea Wolf.
