Report: Brian Kettler, Daniel Cohen and I headed out to West Goleta Beach for a little inshore float tube halibut action. The water in tight was dirty and weedy so we headed out a little deeper to find a nice uphill current. The current pulled us up toward Campus Point and I tied into a decent calico. A little later I nail a nice 4 pound calico. We all spent the next hour or so catching and releasing calicos in the 1 - 3 pound range. Almost all of the fish were caught on the 4 inch Blue Green Sardine colored Big Hammer swimbait. Brian changes his shredded Blue Green Sardine for a 4 inch Sea Wolf colored Hammer and nails a beautiful bright orange 23 inch Calico Bass. On the Boga it bounced between 6.5 and 7 pounds. We fished the rising tide from 7:45 - 9:45 am.
