Report:
Not a bad day today. We had Carl from Atlanta down to fish the lump. He has fished with us a few times since last summer. Every time the weather has been good this winter he could not make it down. So, he said we were going today. It was a little rough but fishable. First line in this morning BAM!!! Fought a little then had some bad luck and lost him. Strike 2 and 100lb yellowfin to the gaff. Fought and brought a mako to the side of the boat. After admiring the fish for a minute, we cut the line and let him swin away. Lost two more yellowfin and then it went dead. From 9-12 nothing but kings. Capt Rusty called and told us to get on his ball as he was leaving. He did not tell us it was wrapped in another anchor line. We fought that tangle for a while and decided to go back to our ball. Line in BAM!!! tuna on. Landed on 110#. It was time to go. All in all not a bad day. 2 yellowfin and one mako. Carl wants to try again tomorrow. We will look at the weather in the morning.
