Report:
The Mcquaid group kicked off the season aboard the Kingfisher on sat. May 15th. With 49 degree water temps fishing turned out to be pretty slow. Last year on May 7th we hammered the stripers and this has been a warmer spring, go figure. With water temps 51 degrees today things should pick up dramatically in the next couple weeks. We did manage to pick up a couple fish. A fat 34" striper caught by Richy Rich trolling a sassy shad umbrella rig in the Race. Sean Mcquaid scored the other fish, a 22" fluke off Fishers Island. Signs Hickory Shad have began moving into the Mystic River this week. Things look good for our Livelining Hickories trips this year. Last year are top fish weighed in at 52 and 54 pounds. I wouldn't be surprised we top that this year with more and more bigger fish being caught every year. If your interested in a trip give us a call at 860-573-3614, we still have a few weekend dates left.
