# 51739: Subject: Montauk South Shore, Rhode Island

Submitted by Captain Jim (ip 68.118.203.22)

  • Fished on 5/21/2004

  • Report received: 5/22/04

Water Temperature: 52
Water Clarity: clear
Seas: 2-3 feet
Weather: A little choppy on the ocean side. Trip back to Westerly was over smooth oily waters. Much ffog all day. Radar was on constantly.
Fishing_for: Fluke
Boat: Reel Steal
captain: Captain Jim Davis

Report:
Headed to Montauk on Fri morning and limited out with some huge fluke. 3 foot leader with green bucktail and squid strip and 4 inch spearing or smelt. Only 2 shorts and 3 skates all day. We did the same last weekend. The fluke fishing is really turning on. Saw no birds working around the rips. Any blues and bass off the Montauk lighthouse or on the Watch Hill reefs yet?
