Report:
Took out the boys from Nebraska this past Sun. morning on the Kingfisher. Coming from Nebraska fishing they were only used to Hybrid stripers so they were expecting grand things from our waters here in Eastern Long Island Sound. Trolling at The Race it wasn't long before they hit their first striper. A fat 36" linesider took our parachute jig and the boys got their first battle. Like clockwork they preceded to hit keepers until the tide became too strong to effectively troll. Decided to finish up tube and worming along the outside of Fisher's Island without much success. Some very big stripers patrol the outside of Fisher's and it shouldn't be long before that area heats up. Fluke have been showing up in much shallower water which demonstrates the fluke season is in full gear.
