Report:
Left 4a.m. on 10/1 and headed for the tails, dropped lines at about 65 miles and started picking 50-70lb. longfins. Got a total of 7 plus 4 mahi mahi (20lb.) and even picked up a 5' wahoo on mono ! Saw lots of dolphins and whales, tons of bait fish. Left the 76-75 degree water and headed west towards the dip. The swell was settling to 1-2' and we saw a nice break down to 71 degrees about 4 miles west of the dip. Tied up at 4p.m. and dropped lines and started chunking. Less than 10 minutes got two 100lb. yellowfins and it stayed like that till we had a total of 8 yellowfin 90-100-lbs. Ran out of fishbox and ice, first light headed back to Montauk to steak fish. Best canyon trip of the summer.
