Report: Fished Salt Pond and a spot I like in the Wilmington River.
Found 3 reds and 2 flounder at various places in the pond (where I could find a clear spot!). One of the flounder went 19.5 inches. One red went 22+ and another about 21. Threw back an 11 inch trout and a small black drum.
In the river, my spot gave up another 21 inch red and a 15 inch flounder.
Total:
4 reds
3 flounder
Most of the fish came on live shrimp and a couple were on mud minnows. THey seemed to prefer shrimp. Didn't have too big a problem with trash fish, probably lost no more than 8 shrimp to them. Beautiful day out there.
