    Report:
My Tail-Chaser team partner (Capt. Randy) and I hit the highway and headed up to the Tybee area to check out some new leads on hotspots. We launched at Lazeretto Creek, which turned out to be a nice ramp with decent parking. It was tricky at high tide, the ramp is not very steep which causes a problem is you do not enjoy putting your vehicle in the salt water. We managed to get the Tail Chaser in with little problem. I did see a guy with his truck in the water with his rear end completely submerged. Hope he plans to trade that thing soon, before his tail lights short out. I would certainly like to report how impressing this area is. The water clarity versus the Ossabaw/St Cats sounds was 180 degrees better with the large flood tides. Tons of oyster throughout the area. This all translates into a cooler full of fish and a great day on the water. Initially we attempted to head out to the jetty and pick up some large bull reds, but the wind, water condition, and extreme current put a halt to that after about an hour. We picked up anchor and headed back around the old tybee light. Landed some very nice Reds at that location. We decided to hit the creek prior to the tide going completely out and access getting tricky. Long story short, We limited out on Reds, caught some very nice trout, and I even pulled a 2.5 pound sheepshead out of two foot of water. There are so many locations that I marked on my gps that I won't begin to list them. I honestly think that my grandfather that has never fished salt water in his life could go into Lazeretto Creek and catch fish. The place is loaded. There are miles of fishable oyster, and endless creeks that you can target. I did however, notice several of the local boaters had some sort of "brain-lock" when it came to etiquette on the water. Small boats just screaming by when lines are out is simply unacceptable. This happened several times. Are the rules different in that area? We definetely gave some stange looks as the "speed racers" blazed by in the 13-15 foot skiffs thoughout the day. I was waiting to come around a corner and find one of them sitting on top of an oyster rake asking for a tow back to the ramp, and crying tears of fear because they broke their daddy's little Boston Whaler or Carolina Skiff. With all of that said, the day was outstanding, the fishing was great, and fish are in the cooler. I will post a pic on my website of yesterdays catch. (www.tail-chaser.com) The weekend looks like its blown out, so its time to do some much needed maintenance on the Tail Chaser and fishing gear. It's also time to hit Bass Pro and stock up on terminal tackle. The past two days have put a hurtin on my terminal tackle inventory. Good luck to everyone and see you on the water.
