Report:
Well the stripers are finally moving out of Fairlee Creek. I or my friends Jack and Jack had our limits on 14 consecutive trips The water temp in the creek has dropped from 51.5 to 45.5 over the 2 1/2 weeks we fished and both the size and quantity of fish has been gradually decreasing. I even caught a 22 and 19 incher (from shore ) on the day we had sustained 35+mph winds with 50+ mph gusts!
Friday we broke our string, catching only 17-18 inch fish and most of those only because I moved my little Mako15 to a Lee Shore area to get out of the wind. Still gread fun and what a super run overall!!!!
As was true each day - NO bird action - they were engulfing the gizzard shad and perch whole with no oily residue or pieces of fish for the birds I guess.
At any rate I'm sure I'll have plenty of happy dreams from this special run of fishing !
