I was looking for a report like this for someone like me that wanted to try shore fishing so here's my "ain't from 'round here report" for what it's worth. Came down from Cumming, Ga (Lake Lanier) with the wife for a weekend. Don't know a thing about saltwater but brought alond some striper tackle. Fished from a couple of the bridges between Brunswick and Jekyll Island. Caught a few Sheepshead on fiddler crabs that I caught in the marsh. Fished using a down line around the bridge pilings. Also caught several small Black Drum on dead shrimp on the bottom. Saw several locals catching trout with a slip bobber rig and live and dead shrimp fished a foot off the bottom. They also had some really large sheeps head (over 7 lbs.) Tried to hire a guide for 4 hours but they all said it was slow due to the new moon. I must not have reached the right people or they may have just been being honest and saved me some money. Was a lot of fun and a beautiful place to go for the weekend. Wish I knew more about this saltwater fishing. Good luck!
