Report:
Ken drove down from Altanta after having to reschedule from last weekend. He is pretty hard core and came dressed for the elements. we rode out to St.Cats sound and got a pretty good salt water shower. Headed to a protected area to show him a few drops to try later in the year. It was slow all day and we worked to find fish. Finally turned on at the low tide.
We managed 7 reds (all legal), 6 black drum (2 kepers) 2 flounder (1 kept) and 2 keeper trout.
All fish caught on float rigs and popping corks w/ shrimp and minnows.
Now Ken had been fishing hard all day watching the youngest member of the crew haul in red after red right next to his cork. He finally decided to toss the frisky shrimp under a popping cork in a totally different direction. It hit the water and ...down only to spring right back up. The shrimp was crushed and dead and he tossed it right back out to this MONSTER TROUT!!!! It made 6-7 good runs and we finally brought it to the net. I just knew it was going to toss the hook but not today. This monster weighed in at 5.6lbs on the Berkly digital scale I had and measured 25" on the nose.
The ride back was brutal but we took are time and endured it with huge smiles. Congrats Ken on the trout of a lifetime.
I'm putting a pic up on my site www.georgiasaltwatercharters.com .
Tight Lines,
Capt. Eric
