Subject: Perdido Pass, Alabama

  • Fished on 5/24/05

    Water Temperature: 78
    Water Clarity: 3-4'
    Seas: 1-3'
    Weather: Beautiful all week!
    Fishing_for: Spanish, sharks
    Boat: Silver Fox

    Report:
I caught plenty of Spanish, Bluefish, and hardtails to use for food, or for bait trolling from the pass out to about 2 miles south of the pass. I drifted with hardtails a couple of mornings and had several good shark bites, but most of them bit through my wire leader. I caught one 6 foot Bull that was fun, and released to fight another day. This is fun fishing and can be very fuel efficient since a large part of your day is spent drifting. I saw lots of fish on the surface chasing bait and could have loaded the boat on Spanish if I had just wanted to burn the gas!
