Report:
I have been fishign in venice for the past 10 days and the night fishing has been incredible. We had sixteen yellowfin twice. First trip was a two boater with Kirk Mcbride and friends on the contender and a glacier bay. We started off with a nice 85 pounder on a live blue jack then that action slowed so we rolled south and first chunk of blackfin in the water was a yellowfin and that action contined throughout the night and the popper bite was awesome. We missed more then our share of fish and still ended up with sixteen yellowfin to 85 pounds.

I had another overnighter go quite well as well and we left the dock a little early and got on a great evening bite on live bait and picked up 4 in an hour. The night bite was a little slow and we caught five yellowfin at night. One on a popper, one on a chunk, one on live bait, and two on jigs. There was no pattern at all to establish. Although the frenzy popper did get knocked out the water a couple times. Got back to a nearshore rig at daybreak and it was on fire with the 80 pound and 60 pound leader and 6/0 frenzy hooks we made short work of 7 more yellowfin in less then two hours.

Had a couple day trips go by with a few tuna caught but nothing really awesome until sundays snapper trip. I had 6 guys from tennessee and they had some of the fastest snapper action I have seen. We hit a couple rigs early with no luck and then we hit the motherload of luck as we caught 32 snapper in an hour and a half with all them solid fish from five-20 pounds as well as 4 nice grouper. Almost all of the fish were caught on cut bonito on the bottom with 150 pound leader. Then since the water looked so nice I started trolling around with pink mirrorlures and braid marauders and trolled around one rig and caught two 30 pound wahoo to put the icing on the cake. for more info on booking the 36 fcontender or 26 glacier bay just email me at eddieburger@charter.net or check out www.fishvenice.com
