# 53997: Subject: Gordon & Bay Point Bars, South Carolina
Submitted by Morrow Dodge (ip 69.34.151.140) - Fished on 7/3/2005
- Report received: 7/6/05
Water Temperature: 85f Water Clarity: a little cloudy Seas: 1-2 Weather: A warm haze on the water in the morning and clearing up around noon, over cast and sometimes clear the rest of the day. Fishing_for: spanish, blues, etc. Boat: Sea Dodger captain: Morrow Dodge
Report: Accompanied by my first mate Amanda Sutcliffe- We got a late start, didn't wet the lines until about 10am. The steamy haze made it hard to find bait in the morning. Put out 3 Clark's Spoons and one tree rig about half way between the tower at Bay Point and the Gordon. Began hooking up with some Spanish about a half mile NW of the wreck, landing every fish with ease, including one nice sized fish. Continued trolling with small-medium sized baitcasters(Penn International 965) catching most of the bigger spanish on size 1 spoons rigged behind a 3oz. trolling sinker. Headed out to the Beaufort 45 for about an hour looking for bigger fish with no luck. Plenty of baitfish out there, maybe I should have put my baits deeper. Saw 2 nice cobia while drifting around eating lunch on the boat, along with one spadefish. Had a great trip.
