Report:
Left Perkins Cove around 0700. Arrived at fishing grounds around 0830. Fishing was hot in the morning. Jigs, as well as bait and flies caught fish. Landed nice sized pollack, cod, cusk, and haddock. Ony a few dogs were caught. Everyone on board caught plenty of fish. Lots of double headers were caught. Fishing slowed somewhat as the day wore on, but it was always steady. The Captain moved the boat every time the fishing slowed. We drifted all day. Both the Captain and mate worked hard to keep us on the fish and in the game. The pros landed a fish every cast. The Bunny Clark had outstanding fishing gear: Custom poles with Penn Senator Reels. The stuff was well maintained. Despite the vessel's small size (40') and the choppy seas, no one hurled! This vessel lacks the amenities and looks of some of the big party boats down in NJ, but it is an excellent fishing platform and the Captain and crew are passionate about catching fish. It showed. We had a "supa" day and caught a fine mess of fish.
