Report:
I ran a couple trips out of fourchon this week and got beat up again as usual. When are we going to get some nice weather if ever. Well started on monday and ran out to the lump and got a suicidal yellowfin. A 171 on 50 pound main line with 60 pound leader in five minutes. That was the quickest big fish I have ever been a part of. I looked down and did a double take when I saw how long its sickles were. We got him in and then we had some issues. We hooked another monster probably in the 200 pound range and had it hooked up solid but it ran under someones anchor line and while we were trying to straighten that out the TLD 50 broke in half. That didnt help one bit as we were now getting spooled with a reel in one hand, a rod in another, and a line that was under someones anchor. Lets just say we lost that fish and leave it at that. LOL After that it kinda slowed down so we headed on in and regrouped for day two. The nasty current moved over the lumps so we headed south and trolled. We caught one 50 pound hooter and one blackfin on pink mirrorlures and headed to the house.

Day three came up and I headed out. It was a decent start as the first three chunks in the water caught blackfin. After that it slowed down. Using 60 pound leader and small chunks we managed to pick up a few more blacks and one 70 pound yellowfin. The fish slowed dramaticall after that so I dropped the lures in teh water and started trolling. The pink stretch 30 in the propwash was getting the most action and we popped two nice hooters and headed to the house. The biggest was a little bit over 60 pounds.
