Report: Headed out prior to daybreak, slow ride with a head sea a bit wet from the spray too. We started seeing flying fish at about 140' of water soon after crossing Edisto Banks. Put out the trolling rigs using 2 sets of daisy chain squid teasers close behind the center of the boat in the first and second swells, ballyhoo rigged on cavitators and bullet heads, 2 off the gunnels and 2 off of the outriggers, all staggered back, the farthest outrigger had a 12 OZ troling weight on it to get it down a bit. trolling speed aprox 8 knots. The first hookups came in 200' of water one right after the other, 2 kings at about 20# ea. We then had a few misses and a cutoff.
Increased trolling speed to 10 knots and had a wahoo come out of the water on a rig but missed at the same time one of the outriggers went down with another wahoo. That one was boated by 12 yr old Greg Williams, aprox 22#. slowed the troll back down and hooked up on some dilphin, boated these and trolled back across the same area hooking up again. By the end of the day we had 5 dolphin ranging from 15 - 20 #, 2 kings and 1 wahoo. Not a bad day off the beautiful Charleston coast.
