Report: fished from 6:45 am until 2pm. tide was running against the wind until noon or so making for big waves and a slow drift. casting gulp baits around the bridge pilings, 3 of us caught 253 flounder by 11am. yes, that's almost exactly one per minute. the pace of catching flounder slackened markedly as the tide slackened, then turned ,making for a too fast drift as wind and current ran in the same direction. because we were using artificials, we gut hooked very few fish, which is a good thing considering only 3 fish met the new 18.5" limit. although it was a lot of fun, i probably won't return until the size limit is lowered because of the few that we did gut hook. i guess the 18.5" limit will have then achieved its purpose by lowering fishing pressure.
