    Report:
missed the incoming high tide at 0630, waiting on the grankids didnt get to the pier until 0830. by the time we got to the pier the bite had stopped. croaker really bite best on the incoming tide at sun up or sun set. we killed time at the beach until about 1700 and went back on the pier. we got the front right corner of the pier which has historically yielded a pretty good catch. we threw out squid and shrimp. the croaker immediately started hitting the squid, not much luck on the shrimp. the kids and i (6yr old boy and 4yr old girl) caught some nice keepers 11-14 inches average. some one accidently stepped on a crab they had caught and was about to throw it away when i asked if i could have it for bait. i used that crab and it brought out the whopper croaker. we caught five off the crab all between 16 and 20 inches. we left with dinner for 8 after about 3 hours. dont forget to take a kid or a couple of kids with you next time you go fishing. solomons on a weekday evening is not too crowded and everyone will have a good time and catch a few fish. have fun and tight lines.
