Report:
Hit the surf close to sunrise. The storm I drove through and the lightening offshore must have kept most people from hitting the beach. The conditions were favorable but the fishing was sporadic. One small trout and a 29" mack on Super Spooks were all the surf gave up.
Switched over to the bay side mid-morning for a few dink trout and 1 undersized red. Did get a kick out of seeing my first sea turtle ever in an upper coast bay. At first I thought it was a sting ray swimming toward me, but as it banked about 6' away,it was unmitakable. It was only about 24" to 26",but it was swimming at a pretty good clip.
Ended the day back in the surf with one more trout before leaving about 4:30. The crowds were starting to materialize.
