Report: Saw numerous puppy drum caught from a hole at the end of ramp 4. The fish were close to the beach. Also saw a rod ripped out of a sand spike and almost lost on a good hit. If your going to put your rod in a spike when there's bait in the water, make sure the drag is set very light.
Late I got into puppy durm south of ramp 23 (on Hatteras Island.) This time the fish were on the outside bar and you needed a long cast to reach them. The fish preferred fresh cut mullet (over bunker.)
