Report:
Another great weekend on the water, this time with my daughter Shelby.
Left home in Weaverville at midnite Fri. Drove the 5hrs in record time!!! Just in time to hookup the old Inletfool and get in by daylight.
Started trolling paddletails of various colors on a jighead and got into them right off...Had 8 keepers and several throwbacks by 10am when the sun and lack of tide movement shut'em down. Took a rest back at the dock to eat and warm up(Shelby). Got back out and at around 3pm the trout moved in and tore it up until after dark. The last few fish we couldn't even see the rods bending, just heard the drag start screaming. We caught over 35 but only kept our limit of 20 with 2 fish over 4.5lb and half over 3lb.
Got in Sunday morning to a cloudy sky and cool temps but the trout warmed us up. Got 17 keepers with numerous shorts before we had to leave at 12. Funny thing, the hot color Saturday wouldn't draw a strike on Sunday, it took a darker shade to get'em with the cloud cover....37 quality Sea trout for the trip, can't wait to fry'em up. So glad my daughter got in on this, She will never forget....
Hope to be back around Christmas, til then keep your rods bent....
