Report: The weather wasn't great today as the visibilty was extremely limited for the entire morning. We were greated with heavy fog and flat calm seas as the boat left Morgan Inlet. Within a short while we were anchored off of Keyport. The bite never happened as just 1 flounder was landed in the first couple of hours. There had been reports of a decent bite yesterday near the Ammo Pier so we headed towards the Belford Flats. The bite there was nothing to rave about either, as only a few fish came over the rails during the next couple of hours. Rather than spend the balance of the trip anchored there, Phil suggested trying a few drifts back near Keyport after receiving a current report of fish being caught. The 1st of 2 drifts produced 8 keeper flounder while the second was a bust. There were 8 anglers onboard today and the total catch was @ 20 flounder. I managed to land 5 flounder today, 1 of which was on Phil's rod when he left it unattended at the rail during the drift.I also caught 2 of my fish on the drift with the final fish taking the pool for the day. The fish at Belford preferred worms while the Keyport fish were attracted to the clams. Tight Lines! (TINKNOCKER)
