Report:
Jason and I joined 9 others aborad the Misty Morn today with hopes of bringing home a tastey dinner or two.
Started off on the Keyport Flats among the spread out fleet. Bite was slow to deelp and I caught the boat's first of the day maybe 45 minutes into the day. A dreadfully slow pick one this drop as I think only 1 or 2 others were taken. Made another drop in the same general area but by this time the tide had turned and started to flood against the WNW wind. Chum pots were reset from the bow of the boat to the stern. A few more flounder were caught, including my second.
Made our final drop of the day on the Keansburg Flats. Didn't take much time before the first flounder started to come over the rail and a nice flurry lasting about 45 minutes ensued. I added another and Jason got on the board with 1. We added a 6th flounder to our catch off our chum pot.
By the end of the day there were 24 flounder on ice (saw only 1 throwback) for the 11 fares. High hook was 7 and the pool winner was in the 16-17" class. 3 out of my 4 (and Jason's) came on a sandworm/clam strip combo. My 4th came on a glob of mussel.
