    Report:
Got out on round shoal around 8am. Set up on the back side toward the reach. Double anchored for flounder and set out some bass rigs. Chum chum chum .. last 20 minutes before slack 4 rods went off. 1 flounder and 3 skates. Then we saw something I have never seen. A Seal swam within 15 yards of the boat. I made some calls to find out that this is not a first. go figure... We pulled anchor(s) and moved toward keyport for the out going. We put together one hell of a chum slick. The wind came up around 1:30 and kept the wind against tide. No matter we stayed on the 2 anchor system. We took a 7lb bluefish and 6 bass (3 keepers) out of the slick. The biggest bass was 32 inches and went 12.5 lbs. The biggest was caught on my flounder rig with a small long shank flounder hook and very small piece of clam. It took an effort to land it. I had him barly in the jaw bone. I will now and forever set out a flounder rig in the slick :-) We'll see how the upcoming weather changes things. Tony C
