Report:
Pulled out of the slip at 6:45AM & was dropping the hook on Romer's by 7:15. Action wasn't long in coming as within 15 minutes I put a 27" bass on the deck. We soon added a out first keeper of the day with a very chunky #15 bass. We were able to put another 2 keeper bass of 29-30" in the box before the bluefish found us. Had action with the bluefish until the tide switched to incoming and the bite shut off completely. All fish came on clams. Back at the dock the #15 bass had a fresh bunker in it. Bunker was bit by a bluefish before the bass ate it as you could still make out the bluefish bite.
Headed out between the channels for some bottom fishing and had steady action the rest of the day with blackfish. Best bite early was on clams before a brief crab bite developed before going back over to nothing but a clam bite. Made 4 drops each producing.
Back at the dock by 2:45.
Ended the day 3 blackfish shy of a 6 man limit, 3 bass and keeping 6 bluefish.
