Report: Joined my fishing buddy, Charlie, and his son, Teddy, for my first trip on Charlie's new 24' Sea Hunt. Expectations were high bsed on Charlie's last trip. Went to Greak Kills harbor to snag / net bunkers. The netting was a bust but snagged 14 bunkers. Headed over to Buoy 11A to dunk live bunker for Stipers. First drift we ended up with three bite-offs by Big Blues. Changed rig to wire hooks and landed two big blues. The bite died. Joined the fleet at Old Orchard. Not a bite. Went to the Round Shoals area of Mount Lorretto. We marked fish but no success after several drifts. Headed back to Buoy 11A for incoming tide. Moved close to the beach between 11A and the Keansburg Pier. Got 7 more Blues and one 17" fluke that was released to become legal by opening day. Great fun catching these blues on light spinning tackle. Water was stained and 5 degrees cooler than Charlie's last trip. All Blues were caught on cut Bunker using wire hooks with small split shots or three way swivel rig with two foot drooper loop. Looklng forward to next trip.
