Report: It was one of those days when we had a little bit of everything as far as the weather goes. First we had a south wind with some swells, then we had no wind and finally we had a brisk west wind. It was sunny in the morning, then cloudy with some rain and then sunny again. The bunker pods were spread all over the area between Bay Head and Mantoloking, from right up to the beach out to almost 50 feet. Some of the pods were huge and many were very active and being chased by feeding predators. We snagged and live lined bunker for several hours for bass and we also did some fluking later in the day. We drifted Gulp swimming mullets with spearing or killies for the fluke. My fishing partner and I put together a catch of bass to 36 inches and fluke to 19.5 inches. We had at least 2 dozen throw back fluke. It was a good day to be out, lots of activity and not many boats.
