Report:
I knew it was going to be a bad day when the guy at the bait shop told me that no one was catching anything of significance. But we decided to go anyways and exited the inlet around 9. Decided to join the boats out in 55 feet of water 3-4 miles east. Saw large schools of bunker being chased by a Thresher shark about 2 miles out. We continued until 3-4 miles off shore. We fished in this area and caught only skates. No one around us was pulling up anything!!! Decided to go shallow up along the beach...again nothing. Then went inside along the light house. Caught a few short fluke. After 6 hours and buring up massive amount of fuel, we called it quits. Other nice day on the water, but no fish. I didn't see anyone catch anything. I think I'm done until the fall. Time to go crabbing. At least that has been good so far. Fishing has been awful outside of Barnegat.
