Report:
Fished just south of the inlet at sun up, no bass under the bunker. Went north chunked Bunker 65 Ft. water off Asbury, nothing. Saw Birds working north of me, all the Blues you wanted 6 to 8 Lbs. As usual for the weekend, the boats ran thru them and they would pop up another 1/4 mile offshore. Stayed with them out to 80 Ft. water about 3 miles off got tired of catching them after 25 fish and losing 30 bucks worth of tackle. Jigs, surface poppers and the kitchen sink worked. They were spiting up 10 inch spearing.
I was only a couple miles south of Schrewsbury Rocks, chunked there for a while no bass, no blues. Saw nothing caught there. Fluked my way back to the inlet. Found a nice bite just south of Monmouth Beach, 28 ft. drifing into the beach, finally caught some keepers. One 24 inch & one 19 inch, jigging Sea Robin Belly. I also caved in and tried the gulp stuff, I did pick some fish on them, but the Sea Robin strips outfished them. Threw back 25. Packed it in around 2, saw some river sharpies bucktailing shorts in the river.
Saw a bunch of bottlenose today, more then I have seen in the past.
Chuck
