Report:
The Offshore bite has been pretty slow lately with only a Wahoo here & there & a few Flip Flops thrown in if you are lucky. We fished the Barta last weekend with only 1 Billfish shot both days & of course we never got a hook in it. So what do you do when it gets realy bad, you go bottom bouncing & that is what we did but we only had a few minutes because of the bad weather moving in. We pulled up on a piece of bottom & dropped a couple jigs over & it did not take long with a big Jack & then a very nice Africam Pompano. We stayed at the dock Sunday because of the weather & licked our wounds from the already long weekend & back at it Monday. We have fortunate enough to be able to fish everyday this week even if they were 1/2 days because there has only been a very few boats that has been able to go. But on a good note the Spanish Mackeral are thick with a bunch of Kings mixed in. Most of the Kings are small but you will catch some big enough to give a boat ride to. The Macks have been spread out from just inside the inlet out to about 45 feet of water. If you ever find them there will be plenty to go around. I must say it has been fun to watch the children catch them knowing that this is most of thems first time fishing in salt water. Maybe next week the report will be Blue Marlins & Yellow Fin Tuna but do not be suprised if it is Mackeral!
