Report:
We had the Pete grasso charter out 2 days ago for shark. We ran out of Moriches to 25 fathoms. We saw some bait jumping so we put out 5 trolling rods hoping for some Bluefin. No luck. We set up in 67 degree h2o and within 20-30 mins a huge 12 ' Great white shark appears under the Boat. we got some pics and video as he made 2 drive bys then disappeared. We stuck it out in that area till the 1st can of chum ran out with no other signs of life. I then decided to move a few miles inshore to get away from the presence of the great white. other sharks usually dont want to be in the same area! So we trolled our way north. again I spotted bait jumping. we found a pod of Dolphins on them We trolled around them for several mins no hookups. we then spotted an 8' thresher breaching 2X! He must've jumped 10' in the air tail and all! kool sight. So we decide to start chumming here since there is good life. We set up the slick, baits are out and within mins another even bigger great White was in the slick this time about 14'! needless to say no other sharks were seen. We did have a sunfish do a drive by. It was a nice discovery channel type of trip with all the life we saw but no Sharks on the rod. You cant get em all the time!
