Submitted by mike (ip 68.109.120.115) - Fished on 8/6/2008
- Report received: 8/6/2008
Water Temperature: 69-74 Water Clarity: clean water Seas: light breeze quiet surface Weather: day started out with hard rain and heavy winds gusts of 40mph or so 5:30pm cleared skys gave way to sun low tide's peak brought blue fish of approximate sizes of 6-10lbs through in schools that were hiting snapper blues caught the day before on a size 7/0 hook with a nyla wire leader Fishing_for: stripers/blue fish Boat: n/a captain: n/a
Report:
harbors and ponds have been active lately with schools of snapper blues sizes from just a few inches to, on avereage, 2-3lbs but larger blues are coming in close proving to be a good fight for light rods with 10-17lb test. large freshwater spinning gear seems to be just enough to successfully land a few of the larger blues that as of today are just begining to show up
p.s. if you fish the southern rhode island area and your seeing big bass please e-mail me with tides, times, and locations
