Report:
Sorry for the late report-computer issues.
Jason and I were part of a surprisingly big crowdof @ 30 people last Saturday night. Expectations were low as I had read the reports from the previous magic hour trips which indicated that the fluke had moved to the east. Non the less, Jason and I just wanted to spend a few hours on the water.
I started out using a 1.5 ounce glow Spro with a 4" new penny GULP shrimp threaded on a 2/0 Gamakatsu baitholder hook while Jason decided to drag bait behind a teaser. Long story short there were a fair amount of short fluke in the 12-14" class caught. My first fluke fell for the GULP shrimp. I was getting bit on the rig I was using but the fluke were not very aggressive and just nipping at the strip of squid off the Spro. I eventually switched to a bait rig with a GULP shrimp teaser.
Jason and I each caught 3 short fluke and 1 sea robin apiece. All of my fluke came on the GULP shrimp. Only 3 keeper fluke were brought aboard.
