Water Temperature: . Water Clarity: Murky Seas: Light Weather: Overcast, light showers, S wind. Fishing_for: Bluefish, fluke Boat: None, beach fishing captain: .
Report: Actually started on the oceanside at Monmouth Beach. Only 1 short fluke on Gulp. So I dediced to finish on the high incoming tide on the bayshore. Leonardo, Pt. Monmouth, and Keyport looked unproductive, so the last stop was Cliffwood Beach. Twice there was surface action. The first time, gulls announce the arrival of a small school of fast-moving cocktail bluefish. I got 2 on a Krocodile spoon before they moved away, and the birdplay stopped. More than a 1/2-hour later, there was a surfacing school without any birdplay. They remained well out of casting range for perhaps 5 minutes, and then moved toward the beach. I landed 1, and saw splashes in close while I was reeling in the fish. After releasing that 1 fish, the action had stopped.
