# 57383: Subject: Delaware Bay-Rips, New Jersey
Submitted by Dwight (ip 147.140.233.16) - Fished on 8/31/2008
- Report received: 9/1/2008
Water Temperature: 74 Water Clarity: murky Seas: 2-3 then laid down Weather: North wind 15knts early diminishing to a gentle east breeze in the pm. Fishing_for: Flounder, Weakies Boat: Never Seas captain: me
Report: Started 2 miles south of Bidwell Creek from about 8:30 to 10am with no hits at the end of the incoming tide. Bait: Peelers, minnows and powerbait. Ran over to the Bug Light, still no hits for an hour. About 1 mile west at the White Sticks We had one 13" weakie and 2 oyeter-crackers on minnows at just before slack tide. The almost non-existent bite died off to nothing at the slack. We ran over to the rips and chased birds working (not over the pod, but along side!!) hoping for small blues but were disappointed. After drifting the rips for an 1 1/2 hr, a nice smooth run back to Bidwell made for a nice ending to a pretty day on the water.
