2 Day Report:

Saturday...My Son Gray and his girlfriend fished with me on the Inletfool today. Started early trolling the intracoastal for Sea trout. Got into the fish right away on the falling tide. Had 15 keepers in the boat after 3 hours when the dead low tide and passing front shut down the bite.

Met my Mom and Dad in the backwater to catch some bait. Lots of shrimp but few mullet. Made our way out to the Little River Jeddi. The ocean was too rough for my liking so we headed back inside to see what we could get into.

Found Mom and Dad in the back of a small creek catching a few red and black drum. Should have stayed in the area but my son and his girlfriend were getting tired and she had to pee. Dropped them off at the ramp and continued by myself.

Trolled the waterway for a bit catching two more trout but the bite had petered out due to the front that moved thru. Got a call from Mom asking about bait. Seems they had used most of their shrimp and needed more. I rode out to the backwater again, gave them half of mine and fished next to them in the deep bend of a creek. They had caught 9 black drum and 3 reds with a small sheepshead thrown in. Mom got their 10th black quick like and they had their limit. I got a bite and set the hook on a strong fish that pulled me all around the hole. Got it to the net and was shocked to see a huge sheepshead that pulled the scale down to 6.5lbs. My biggest ever! Dad lost one right after that was it's twin. Caught one more 17" red and a few bluefish before it was starting to get dark. Did catch one more trout in the twilight as we neared the ramp, trolling through the no wake zone.... Total for my boat for the day. 19 trout, 1 red, 1 sheepshead, 2 bluefish with 4 or 5 trout released that were too small. Mom and Dad had 2 sheepshead, 4 reds and the 10 black drum.

Sunday...Started early to clear skys. No trout biting on the troll. Too early in the tide to catch shrimp. Checked the Jeddi but still to rough. Caught one trout in the backwater. Got out at 10:30am for the long ride home. Dropped my boat off at Dad's and cleaned our fish. Made it home to the mountains at 8:30pm. Worth every minute of drive time and I hope to do it again during Thanksgiving. Until then keep a tight line everyone.....
