3 day report
thursday...made the drive down from the mountains. stopped in at mom's to have thanksgiving dinner. got on the water at 4pm. my wife anita is fishing with me this trip. caught 5 nice fat trout before dark trolling paddletails. high hopes for tomorrow.
friday...on the water early. caught 1 keeper and 1 shorty on the first pass through our trolling area. nothing on the next 3. dad got his boat in at 8:30. he stopped and bought live shrimp. we met and divied up the shrimp and headed for the jedi. rough conditions kept us from getting in the spot i wanted. had to settle for a calm spot on the inside as anita is a little seasick. got 2 sheepshead right away; then a small red drum. dad gets a couple of nice sheepshead. i can see him up the jedi. after a while we decide to move from the lack of action and it's starting to get rough here too. came back inside and trolled several areas with no luck. i did pick up 3 trout including a short back in the intracoastal before dark. total 3 keeper trout and 2 sheepshead.
saturday...woke up to light rain. watched the weather channel and waited. no end in sight so i decided to put on the rainsuit. anita drops me off at the ramp and goes back to bed. trolled the intracoastal for 2 hours and only picked up 1 keeper trout. packed up and made for the long ride home at 10am.
i'm off two weeks at christmas; hope to get a few good weather days. i know the big trout will be at the jedi if i can just get to them...
