Report:
High tide was about 2200 hrs so I arrived about 2000 hrs to catch the tide incoming. It took all of about 2 minutes to catch the first croaker on blood worms. The bite was consistent over the next two hours. The fish werent picky the hit a combination of baits. The successful baits included blood worm (best choice) shrimp, squid and nightcrawlers. I used my seven foot pole and did not cast very far out, but there seemed to be croaker every where. Big Gary was using a 12 footer and did even better than I (boy , he can throw that thing a mile). I left with 20 croakers at a little before midnight.
If you havent been to Tappahannock give it a shot, not just for the fishing but for the comraderie. We all know that most fisherman are good people but they really make you feel like a neighbor in that town. Make sure to take a kid fishing when you can and tight lines to all.
