    Report:
Jason and my original plans for today was to fish the Navesink but Capt. Allan gave me a call last night asking if we wanted to join him for a few hours doing some light tackle fluking in the Manasquan. Pulled out of the slip a little after 6:30 AM and made the short ride to our first spot-which was just east of Clark's. Jason and I both started out using a 1 ounce white Spro tipped with a 4" chartreuse GULP swimming minnow. I used a standout hook tipped with a 3" GULP new shrimp and Jason used a 1/4 ounce Spro tipped with a 1" white GULP swimming minnow. Capt. Allan and his brother in law Anthony both started out using a 3/8 chartreuse jighead tipped with a 3" GULP new penny shrimp. Anthony had the hot hand early but I soon started catching a good clip. Jason and Allan both had their share as well. Moved east and fished behing the Lobster Shanty. Once the tide started to move the bite picked up. The fluke seemed to have a preference to the GULP shrimp fished off the standout hook as I was outfishing the others by a wide margin. Made a short move over by the monument. Here the fluke wanted the bucktail. Ended the day back where we started & we all switched to the 3/8 ounce jighead. We ened the day culling 6 keepers out of the @80 fluke we boated. I know I had 24 fluke myself, 2 of those being keepers. Every fish we caught was a fluke not 1 sea robin, cocktail bluefish or sun dial.
