    Report:
Spur-of-the-moment trip (Are not they often one of the best?). This trip started slow for me. I tried combinations of bucktails, teasers w/ spearing, gulp teasers, gulp/spearing teasers. Only 2 short fluke and 2 sea robins. There was a pick around the boat, and everyone seemed to be dragging bait. After a longer move, we started a "change-of-tide drift". I switched to a bait rig with a fluke strip and a spearing. The drift lasted 3 hours, and I landed 17 fluke, 2 of which were keepers. Action slowed on the last drift, and I landed 3 more shorts. Capt. John firmly believes that the fluke followed us on that 3-hour drift.
