Water Temperature: 85 Water Clarity: 5'-15' Seas: 0'-2' Weather: Very nice for late July. Mild temps with light to moderate S-SW winds picking up with the afternoon seabreeze.
A few thunderstorms in the area, but they stayed away from the pier all week! Fishing_for: ANYTHING that bites ;-) Boat: . captain: .
Report: After a 58 month long wait (since Hurricane Ivan virtually destroyed the old 850' pier) the 1540' Gulf State Park Pier (in Gulf Shores, AL) reopened the week of July 20th.

I fished Mon-Fri of opening week and the catches were phenomenal. Many flounder and king mackerel (to 31#) were caught along with nice spanish mackerel, redfish, black drum and some speckled trout. Also there have been THOUSANDS of 1#-3# bluefish landed.
Sure am glad to get our pier back (bigger and better than ever ;-)
Thank You Lord!
